AUTISM ARTS

This exhibition celebrates the artistic accomplishments of the young people who participated this past year in the very successful Autism Arts Saturday art classes at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia Western Branch in Yarmouth. Autism Arts is a recreational art program which provides a safe and supportive environment for children and youth to express themselves creatively. It also provides a natural and organic social environment that encourages interaction, acceptance, and friendship.

The projects presented in this exhibition were designed by artist educator Jay LeBlanc to invite experimentation with a variety of art processes and materials. The nature of each project encouraged participants to express and communicate their thoughts, ideas and feelings while taking into consideration the technical elements of making art.

Thank you for the generous support this year from 100 Women Who Care in Yarmouth Country, and The Friends of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia in Yarmouth.
