Make Day! Paper Weaving

Practise weaving in our studios! Use colourful papers to create your own designs and learn techniques inspired by Mi’kmaw basketry. Get inspired by etchings of Mi’kmaw basketry and the words for each technique, in Ursula Johnson’s artwork Museological Grand Hall, on view in Generations: The Sobey Family and Canadian Art.
Work independently, or with your small group, this program is great for children ages 5+ with an adult. Drop-in, included with the price of admission.
About the program:
Make Day is a studio program for emerging artists of all ages! Designed as an intergenerational art workshop, these sessions lead participants in a short art lesson that introduces an art technique or process, resulting in a fun art piece you can take home. A great way to get connected, inspired, and creative with friends or family. Each month’s activity is inspired by works in an exhibition currently on view.
