The 2013 Sobey Art Award exhibition features works by the five shortlisted artists who vied for this year’s Award. They are:
- West Coast and the Yukon: Isabelle Pauwels
- Prairies and the North: Mark Clintberg
- Ontario: Duane Linklater 2013 WINNER
- Quebec: Pascal Grandmaison
- Atlantic: Tamara Henderson
The Sobey Art Award is Canada’s pre-eminent award for contemporary Canadian art. This is your chance to discover what is new in Canadian art now. The award established in 2002 is awarded to a Canadian artist age 40 and under who has exhibited in a public or commercial art gallery within 18 months of being nominated.
Duane Linklater was announced as the winner of the award this year on the evening of Wednesday October 9th, 2013. He received $50,000 as the 2013 winner, and $5,000 was awarded to each of the other finalists.
