The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia presents a specially designed focus exhibition on the artist Emily Car in the Education Gallery as an extension of the Canadian Pioneers: Tom Thomson, Emily Carr, J.W. Morrice, and The Group of Seven, Masterworks from the Sobey Collections exhibition. The design of this intimate exhibition affords the visitor a place to reflect on this remarkable woman whose legacy is securely entrenched in the story of Canadian art history. Included are three artworks by Emily Carr from the Sobey Family Collection, and one artwork from the AGNS Permanent Collection, in addition to artist quotations and a collection of resource books and stories she has authored, that highlight her pioneer spirit and philosophy.
