For Educators
School Outreach
The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia offers two school outreach programs.
ArtsSmarts is a Canada-wide education initiative dedicated to improving the lives and learning capacity of Canadian children and youth by supporting innovative arts-based learning projects in schools.
ArtReach was developed in response to the challenge of bringing original art to rural and isolated communities to give children and youth meaningful experiences with their provincial art collection.
School Visits
Teachers and students are invited to explore the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia’s dynamic exhibitions and works from the Permanent Collection on view in both Halifax and the Western Branch in Yarmouth. School visits are available in both locations throughout the school year.
Little Artists
We welcome opportunities to work with and support the early childhood education community through special exhibitions, resource development, and workshops for educators, parents, and caregivers.
